The villas are located about a half-hour drive
from Porlamar, Margarita Island's most popular city, in a rural area. There are
two apartments in the villa, one upstairs and one downstairs. Each apartment is
suitable for four people and has two bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, a
living room and a bathroom with a shower. There is a security box in one
bedroom. Each apartment have a large patio with hammocks and planters with
flowers. Maid service is included five days a week and linens are supplied, in
addition purified drinking/cooking water is included. Guests are asked to bring
their own beach towels.
Guests might want to bring a radio. Several radio stations play current American
hits.
The apartments are $55 US per night for 1 to 2 people and
$60 US per night for 3 to 4 people (not per person).
The Beach
The long, wide beach is a 10 minute walk from the villa. At the beach, chaise lounges are available for rent ($3 US for two per day). There are several restaurants on the beach, a complete meal with drinks costs about $10 US. Snacks such as oysters, empanadas and drinks are available at the beach and are very inexpensive. Beer cost about 50 cents US. There are vendor stalls along the beach road offering towels, bathing suits, T-shirts, sandals, etc. for sale. There are also a few other good restaurants within a 10 minutes walk that are open for dinner. Dress is casual.
Stores
There are two small convenience stores within a
5 to 10 minute walk. They sell breakfast, lunch items, milk, soda pop and
liquor. The city of Porlamar is a duty free port, and prices are quite low.
There is also a huge flea market. Porlamar is quite a big city with lots of
night life, shopping and restaurants. A taxi to Porlamar is about $10 US.
The bus is .30 cents US and service is frequent.
