Ocean Front 1000 Square Foot Condo on Margarita Island

You already know about Margarita Island and are ready to spend some time here. Many dream of retiring here where the cost of living is low, the air is clean, the water is clear and the food is natural. Where to start and what to do first is the question that many ask.

There are many choices. You could do all inclusive, but you do not get the real feel for the island life that way. There are many nice hotels and bed and breakfasts you could visit, again not a true feel of the island life.

Many choose to rent a condo for a few months before taking the plunge of full time island life and this is good advice. You can get the feel of everyday living this way. Go grocery shopping.......... plan on an adventure the first time.



One of the major problems with renting a condo is how do you get around. Sure Taxi's are cheap but again you do not get a true feel for the island this way. You really need a car to get a feel for the island. Sure drivers on the island are aggressive drivers. No worse than many cities back home. You get the hang of it in no time flat.

Okay, so you will rent a condo and a car for a month or two. HOLD on to your wallet. Expect to lay out some serious cash for a short term rental on a condo. First and foremost make sure the condo you choose is in a secure area with gated access. While serious crime is low on the island, petty crime is higher then many places. No big deal if you use common sense.

Car rental on the island is down right EXPENSIVE! No if ands or buts. Expect to pay around a grand a month to rent a well used vehicle. That's just the way it is. The upside is you can fill up and get FULL service for less then two bucks per tank full.

What is being offered here is a chance to see if island life is for you and save some cash.

Playa Dorado is located in Pampatar's La Caranta section, Sambil Mall is about 5 minutes away. It is ocean front and on a clear day you can see the mainland. Both the living room and the master bedroom have a spectacular ocean view. The water is turquoise and there is wonderful snorkeling right in front of the balcony.

It has a fully equipped American kitchen which includes a full size stove with oven, a garbage disposal, dishwasher, microwave oven, independent under counter filtered ice maker, a water filtering system at the sink, a full size refrigerator, coffee maker, blender, toaster oven, pots, pans, dishes and all the utensils to make you feel at home. There is also a big breakfast bar with 5 chairs. Of course there is central A/C.

    It is in a gated community and has two wonderful pools. The grounds are meticulously maintained and there is a separate parking garage. The condo is on the 6th floor with private keyed elevators. There is a washer and dryer in the condo.

The master bedroom has a queen size bed, double closet, bureau and a 21 inch TV. The second bedroom has 2 single beds, a big closet and a dresser. The terrace has a 4 seat table and chairs which can be moved indoors if you would like. The living room has a 29 inch TV and DVD player. Both TV's have Direct TV connected. There is a large comfortable sofa and a side chair as well. The hot water is provided by an instant hot water heater, no running out of hot water. There is a 500 liter reserve water tank installed as a back up, just in case. The floors are tile for easy clean up. Both bathrooms have full showers and the standard amenities.

A 2007 Nissan Sentra with 4 doors, A/C, CD player, automatic transmission and a security system. It is " Driftwood ", a grayish bronze color. There is full coverage insurance included (with a $500.00 deductible).

Sounds good so far? Now you want to know the bottom line? How about $1800.00 a month COMPLETE. No commitment no worries. Just fly in and you will be met at the airport and taken to your condo in Playa Dorado in the car you will be driving. Spend a month, two, three, or whatever you need to decide if island life is for you and, if so, where to find a place to call home. When you book, you will pay for the number of months you wish to reserve and there is a $500.00 damage deposit.
